How to Make Preview Day Count

Published on 27 September 2019

St. Louis College of Pharmacy’s Preview Day is just around the corner! When you come to visit, be sure to make the visit count. Here are some tips on how to make the most out of Preview Day.

  1. Take the optional campus tour
Campus tours can be one of the most important parts of the college-search process. They allow you to see the place you’ll be calling home for the next several years and decide if the campus has the feel you’re looking for.

  2. Interact with other visiting students
Preview Day offers the chance to begin interacting with individuals who may become future classmates. Take the opportunity to talk with other students you see throughout the day. Discuss what you have in common and what kind of college experience you’re looking for. These conversations will help you realize you’re not alone in the college-search process.

  3. Talk with current students, faculty and staff
The best way to truly understand what it’s like to be a student at the College is to talk to current students. At Preview Day, student ambassadors will be leading tours of the College and will be available to answer questions about life on campus, academics and anything else potential students may be curious about.

Also be sure to interact with the faculty and staff that will be on campus for Preview Day. If you decide to come to the College, you will interact with faculty and staff every day. While at Preview Day, take some time to talk with faculty and staff about opportunities to take on leadership roles, participate in research initiatives and get involved on campus.

  4. Prepare and listen to questions
Come prepared with questions on topics like living on campus, scholarship opportunities, career pathways, graduate opportunities, transferring existing credits and other subjects you want answered. Preview Day is the perfect opportunity to get the answers you want immediately and in-person. Also, pay attention to what other students may be asking. Answers to questions that you hadn’t thought to ask may be of use to you in the future.

  5. Explore the city
The College features a perfect urban location in the heart of St. Louis’ Central West End neighborhood. After Preview Day wraps up, take the opportunity to venture out and explore all that the city has to offer. If you want recommendations on great places to check out, just ask some of our current students, faculty or staff. They will be well prepared to talk about all of their favorite spots.

Preview Day is on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 and offers the perfect opportunity to see what the College is all about.
