A Campus Transformed
The College campus underwent incredible transformation with the opening of the Academic and Research Building and the Recreation and Student Center. The two LEED-certified buildings were completed by 2017, bringing to close the largest construction project in the College’s history.
Both buildings were designed and constructed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification, the rating system used by the U.S. Green Building Council to Measure a building’s sustainability and resource-efficiency, and to expand student recreation and learning space.
Our central location within one of the nation’s premier biomedical complexes allows us to forge partnerships in research and resources expanding student opportunity in and outside the classroom, cultivating an interprofessional environment for students, setting them apart when they leave our halls for post-graduate and professional studies and impactful careers.
Since 2015, the College has established three major centers on campus.
- The Center for Clinical Pharmacology was established by St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and features more than 30 faculty and staff in a 12,000 square-foot space dedicated to research. Areas of research study range from research toward drug development to treat a range of human diseases including autoimmune diseases and cancer to drug design and organic synthesis.
- The Center for Health Outcomes Research and Education was established by the College to examine how the optimal use of medications can improve health outcomes and is housed on the sixth floor of the College’s Academic and Research Building.
- The Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education at Washington University Medical Campus was established by St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes Jewish-College, and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis to further the goal of improving patient safety and quality in health care through interprofessional and collaborative practice.
