How many announcements will I receive?

B.S. graduates have the option to purchase announcements on the Herff Jones website.


What are the diploma dimensions?

Bachelor of Science diplomas measure 8.5x11 inches.


What is the fee for the cap, gown, tassel and diploma?

A commencement fee was included in your fall bill. The fee takes care of your cap, gown, diploma and tassel, hood.


Where do I order my cap and gown?

Order your regalia online at

Start the order by clicking on “Order a Cap and Gown” (you can add announcements and a diploma frame during your order). There is a link for doctoral graduates and bachelor's graduates. Make sure to click the correct ceremony you will be attending.

What is the deadline to order my cap and gown?

The deadline to order is March 28, 2017. This allows times to process the orders and ship to our bookstore.

Where do I pick up my cap, gown and hood?

Pick up for both the Pharm.D and B.S. graduates will be in the Follett Bookstore in the new Mid Campus Center building, just across Children's Place our Residence Hall and Jones Hall. An email reminder will be sent closer to the pick-up days (May 1-10).

Commencement Day

What time should I arrive on campus?

With the ceremony at 1 p.m., you’ll need to be in the auditorium in the ARB by no later than 12 p.m. for final instructions. Make sure to have your cap, gown, and tassel with you. We won’t have extras on hand.

Where should my guests park?

Please advise your guests to park in the STLCOP garage. Parking will be tight so we encourage your guests to carpool if possible.

Where do I park?

If you currently have parking in the STLCOP or Duncan garage, please use that space on this day as parking will be tight. 


Is it a requirement that I participate in the ceremony?

Yes, unless the Office of the Registrar has received a written waiver from Dean Kilgore.

What is the cumulative grade point average needed to receive honors?

Honors are awarded as follows:

  • 3.20-3.49 Cum Laude (with honors)
  • 3.50-3.69 Magna cum Laude (with high honors)
  • 3.70-4.00 Summa cum Laude (with highest honors)

When is graduation rehearsal and is it mandatory?

Rehearsal for the B.S. ceremony is mandatory. Time and date of the rehearsal will be added soon but will likely be on Thursday, May 11, and will be held in the auditorium.
