Training

STLCOP uses the online learning system, Moodle, for academia, and Campus Safety has been able to tap into this resource and deliver valuable training modules and other safety-related content to all College community members.

Access Training Resources

The following is a brief list of the trainings provided.

Laboratory Safety

This training provides information on safe lab practices, hazardous materials and regulatory requirements, and is designed to minimize the risk of injury or illness to laboratory workers by ensuring that they have the training, information, support and equipment needed to work safely in the laboratory.

Fire Safety and Suppression

This training provides basic fire safety information, including characteristics and hazards of different classes of fire, types of suppression tools and how to safely and effectively use a fire extinguisher.

STLCOP Emergency Management

This training module provides basic knowledge of the National Incident Management System and Incident Command System, and is designed for staff and faculty who would have a critical role during an emergency impacting the College.

Globally Harmonized System (GHS)

This training module provides basic knowledge of the recently implemented Globally Harmonized System (GHS), and is designed for staff and faculty who are directly involved with the handle, use, transport and/or storage of potentially hazardous chemicals.

Bloodborne Pathogens

This training provides information on the safe handling and manipulation of potentially infectious bodily fluids, and is designed for staff and faculty who may be exposed, including lab personnel, maintenance, and housekeeping staff.

Armed Violent Intruder

This training video describes awareness techniques and life-saving strategies to take in the event of an violent intruder or active shooter situation in a public location.
