Here are what Dr. Brooks's colleagues have to say about what makes her a fantastic educator:
“I have not had a chance to work closely with Dr. Brooks, but have observed that she is very professional, friendly, and dedicated to her students. She is a good role model for our students, an ambassador for the profession, and a great asset for the College.” – Dr. Ken Schafermeyer
“Dr. Brooks is that rare educator who combines the best of clinical knowledge with that uncanny personal touch, making each student in the room feel as though she is talking to them personally. She exemplifies what Dr. Haberle believed in by treating her students as individuals and as junior colleagues whose questions, concerns, and aspirations matter. She respects her students and, in turn, they respect her.” – Dr. Bob Zebroski
“Dr. Brooks is a very patient educator. She takes time to teach a concept and does so with so much care and compassion. She is never arrogant or short-tempered and never appears frustrated with or at students – she considers their feelings at all times.” – Dr. Gloria Grice
“Amie was the residency program director (RPD) for a residency program in which I was a preceptor. When I became an RPD, she answered a number of questions I had and continues to answer questions for me. When faced with a difficult situation related to residency training, I often ask myself, "What would Amie do?" She is an outstanding role model for not only her students, but for her fellow faculty as well. – Julie Murphy
“As a former resident and current colleague of Dr. Brooks, I have been and still am inspired by her as a clinician, educator, and mentor. No matter the situation, she is enthusiastic, optimistic, and portrays a positive attitude. She is not only a role model for her students and residents, but someone for fellow faculty to strive to emulate.” – Andy Crannage
