My research is in the field of thrombosis and hemostasis. In particular, I am interested in molecular mechanisms and molecular pharmacology of platelet functions. Blood platelets play critical roles in the development and course of thrombotic diseases. Thus, thorough understanding of platelet functions at a molecular level is needed to improve existing or introduce novel therapies for cardiovascular diseases.
My current projects investigate:
1. The role of phosphatidylinositol (3,4) bisphosphate in platelet functions
2. Regulation of adenosine diphosphate-mediated platelet activation Vita highlights 2007-2008: American Heart Association Heartland Affiliate Postdoctoral Fellowship Award
2003-2005: American Heart Association Greater Midwest Affiliate Predoctoral Fellowship Award
