Education

Gloria Grice transferred from the University of Maryland, College Park undergraduate program into the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1998 and completed her Pharm.D. degree in 2002. Grice came to St. Louis to finish post-graduate residency training in family medicine.


Area of Speciality
  • Practiced family medicine for four years at St. John's Mercy Family Medicine
  • Practiced pharmacogenomic-based anticoagulation and research at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University for three years
  • Back into family medicine at Southside Family Practice for one year
  • Now in Experiential Education (full-time academia)


Favorite courses,activities,and scholarly interest
  • Favorite courses: physical assessment, experiential learning, and pharmacogenomics elective
  • Favorite activities:watching sports, singing in a band, and traveling
  • Research interests: pharmacogenomics and warfarin therapy, interprofessional education, health literacy, and physical assessment education for pharmacy

Pharmacogenomics and warfarin therapy; a controversial, hot topic. Grice enjoyed being part of the research that fueled much of the drama!

About Me

Grice moved to the United States in 1986 and attended a private Baptist school for grades 1-12. She knew that she wanted to be a pharmacist after shadowing a clinical pharmacist at the NIH the summer before college. In 2002, Grice moved to St. Louis for her residency and fell in love. She met her husband, Ryan, in a church band and has a daughter, Nadia, and two cats, Bill and Ted!
