The STLCOP women’s tennis team suffered two losses over the Sept. 28-29 weekend. On Saturday, the Euts hosted Midway College, falling 5-4. After doubles, the Euts were ahead 2-1 with wins from the doubles teams of Carmen Stach/Callie Hogancamp at court two and Amanda Empson/LeAnn Tran at court three. In singles, the STLCOP team fell just one court short of the team win, despite individual wins from Georgie Boeckmann on court three and Tran on court six.
Sunday, the Euts traveled to Owensboro, Ky., to play Brescia University, losing 6-3. With no winners at doubles, the Euts claimed three singles courts, including an impressive win by Stach at court two. She defeated a two-time All-Conference player who had not lost a conference match since 2011. Singles wins also came from Tran at court five and Mascha Kurenok at court six.
The Eutectics are now 0-5. Over the weekend of Oct. 5-6, they will travel to games at Asbury University (Ky.) and Alice Lloyd College in Albany, Ind.
