May 24, 2013 : St. Louis College of Pharmacy is changing athletic conference affiliation, and the Eutectics will begin competing in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) in the fall of 2014. The 2013-2014 season will be the College’s last in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC).
May 20, 2013 : The AIDS epidemic in South Africa has produced a substantial need for health care professionals. To help meet that demand, St. Louis College of Pharmacy has been chosen to assist in the development and expansion of a pharmacy technician training program in South Africa.
May 16, 2013 : A team of students at St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Washington University School of Medicine was chosen as one of three winners of the national Script Your Future Award, a national campaign to raise awareness about medication adherence.
May 8, 2013 : Rain did not hold back anyone in St. Louis looking to safely dispose of unwanted and expired medication. On April 27, a record 16,311 pounds of medication from the St. Louis metropolitan area was discarded as part of the St. Louis Medication Disposal Initiative.
April 26, 2013 : International pharmacy leader Henri Manasse Jr., Ph.D., Sc.D. (Hon.), FFIP, will be the featured speaker at this year’s St. Louis College of Pharmacy commencement ceremony.
April 18, 2013 : A survey by a federal government agency found that each day, nearly three thousand teenagers abuse a prescription drug for the first time. St. Louis College of Pharmacy is partnering with the City of St. Louis and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to remove these potentially dangerous, unused, and unwanted medications from the home as part of the St. Louis Medication Disposal Initiative.
March 14, 2013 : The College was recently named to the 2013 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service, which is the highest honor a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement.
March 5, 2013 :St. Louis College of Pharmacy alumnus Dennis K. Helling ’71 recently received the 2013 Remington Honor Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA).
